Turkmenistan Releases Business Guide on Accession to The WTO

The Ministry of Finance and Economics of Turkmenistan, in collaboration with the International Trade Centre (ITC), has launched a comprehensive guide aimed at private sector representatives. Available in three languages, this guide clarifies the process and implications of the country's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The document, which can be found on the ministry's official website, covers essential aspects of WTO membership and its impact on various economic sectors. It is part of the ITC project "Turkmenistan: Trade Resilience and Integration," designed to enhance the country's involvement in regional and global trade.

Topics addressed in the guide range from basic information about the WTO to specific benefits for exporters and regulations concerning intellectual property protection.

Since achieving "accession country" status in February 2022, Turkmenistan has ramped up efforts to integrate into the international trading system. The government emphasizes the importance of understanding the WTO's legal framework and its implications for national trade policy.

By publishing the guide in Turkmen, Russian, and English, Turkmenistan demonstrates its commitment to transparency in the accession process and its readiness to engage with the international business community.
