Turkmenistan Ready to Strengthen Relations with the European Union

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Teri Hakala, who is completing her mission as the EU Special Representative for Central Asia. During the meeting, Hakala congratulated the head of state on the International Day of Neutrality and noted the importance of the EU’s cooperation with neutral Turkmenistan, TDH reports.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed satisfaction with the long-term fruitful cooperation with the EU and thanked Hakala for her contribution to the development of the partnership. He also congratulated her on her appointment as Finland’s Special Representative to the OSCE and wished her success in her new position.

During the meeting, the multifaceted relations between Turkmenistan and the EU were discussed, including cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to further strengthen effective relations with the European Union.
