Turkmenistan is ready to carry out trade settlements with Kyrgyzstan in national currency, Trend reports referring to the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET).
A 50/50 ratio is envisaged, in Turkmenistan manats and Kyrgyzstani soms.
This was announced at a meeting of the Kyrgyz-Turkmen intergovernmental committee on trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation in the Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek. Head of the UIET Aleksandr Dadaev drew attention to the significant progress in the development of trade relations between the two countries.
"Given the intensification of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, the topic of opening a direct flight between the capitals of the two states was touched upon," the report said.
During the joint business forum, issues revolving around interaction in the textile industry, construction and tourism were among the topics of discussion. The possibilities of building a trading house in Turkmenistan in Bishkek were also considered.
Earlier, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan came to an agreement on the creation of joint ventures focused on the markets of the EU, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and China.Kyrgyzstan is also negotiating with the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan on increasing commodity circulation.
Turkmenistan, in turn, is ready to consider the possibility of joint mining and processing of minerals in Kyrgyzstan.
