Turkmenistan provides its airspace for the evacuation of foreigners from Afghanistan

Turkmenistan provides its airspace for the evacuation of foreign citizens from Afghanistan. This was announced today by the press service of the country's Foreign Ministry.

Earlier, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan made a statement on the situation in Afghanistan and said that the diplomatic missions of our country in Afghanistan continue to work as usual.

Let us remind you that on August 15, a change of power took place in Afghanistan. Militants of the Taliban movement (a banned organization in the Russian Federation and a number of other countries) seized all the key cities of Afghanistan and the capital, Kabul. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani resigned and left the country to “avoid bloodshed in Kabul”.

According to incoming reports, the situation in the country is tense. The authorities of many countries are evacuating their citizens and embassy staff.
