Turkmenistan Pledges $100 Thousand to UN Central Emergency Response Fund

Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov took part in a high-level pledging conference for the UN Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF), TDH news agency reported on Wednesday.

During the forum, Turkmenistan pledged $100 thousand to the UN’s Central Emergency Response Fund for 2021.

In order to support the actions of the international community at the global level, Turkmenistan at the beginning of 2020 made its first voluntary contribution - $100 thousand - to the fund.

The fund was established 15 years ago in accordance with a special resolution of the UN General Assembly. This year’s forum has been convened by the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
