Turkmenistan plans to expand gas production at “Galkynysh” field

Turkmenistan intends to increase natural gas production at one of the world's largest fields, “Galkynysh”. According to the government's plans, additional gas wells will be drilled and commissioned at the first stage of development.

This will increase the volume of “blue fuel” production and ensure uninterrupted supplies to neighboring countries, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

Information about plans to expand production was announced at a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan. Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Amanov reported on measures to provide the State Concern “Turkmengaz” with the necessary funds for the construction of new wells at the “Galkynysh” field.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to take measures to purchase equipment and materials necessary for drilling additional gas wells.
