Turkmenistan Opens Some Border Checkpoints to Vehicles With Drivers

Turkmenistan will open from November 7 this year some of its border checkpoints for foreign and domestic vehicles with drivers that meet the declared requirements to enter and exit, and transit its territory, Türkmenawtoulaglary (Turkmen Road Transport) Agency announced on Thursday.

The crossing will be allowed through the Artyk, Sarakhs, Garabogaz, Altyn Asyr, Dashoguz, Koneurgench, Farap, Ymamnazar and Serhetabat road checkpoints, and Turkmenbashi International Seaport.

Previously, travel through these border checkpoints was limited due to measures introduced in Turkmenistan to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

In September, Turkmenistan allowed Turkmen and foreign trucks with drivers to cross its territory through numerous checkpoints with the aim of carrying out international cargo transportation.
