Turkmendeňizderýaýollary Agency (Turkmen Maritime and River Transport) representatives offered Bureau Veritas Marine Kazakhstan to open a branch in Turkmenistan at the meeting on Monday, the agency reported on Thursday.
The sides discussed bilateral cooperation and the Turkmen side told about future shipbuilding projects at the Balkan shipyard, offering to increase partnership with BV.
Representatives of Bureau Veritas Marine Kazakhstan expressed interest in expanding cooperation and said they are ready to attract representatives from foreign countries (Türkiye, UAE) to Turkmenistan in case of demand for services increases.
The company representatives also held meetings at Balkan Shipbuilding and Repair Plant and Trade Fleet joint stock company.
According to the official press of Balkan Shipyard, within the framework of the meeting, negotiations were held on technical shipbuilding control and certification of Balkan Shipyard welders in line with the standards of the Bureau Veritas Classification Society.
The Bureau Veritas Classification Society was established in 1828 and is one of the eleven largest classification societies.BV offers international marine pollution prevention services as well as shipbuilding inspection and certification.
The company has 140 offices worldwide and has been offering services for the certification of Turkmen ships to international standards under a contract with Turkmendeňizderýaýollary Agency since 2020.
