The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Turkmenistan, in partnership with the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan, announced the successful launch of the “Electronic Statistical Reporting and Business Register” platform.
The platform aims to transform the way statistical data is collected and processed in the country, permitting legal entities and entrepreneurs to submit and manage statistical forms online.
The system simplifies business registration, streamlines reporting processes and significantly improves the efficiency of data collection and analysis.
The platform offers a number of benefits, including improved access to real-time data for more informed decision-making, reduced administrative costs for respondents, and simplified operations. Narine Saakyan, UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan:
“This innovative platform represents a significant advance in the digital transformation and economic development of Turkmenistan. We are confident that this tool will provide significant benefits to both statistical agencies and all economic entities involved in business registration, improving interagency cooperation and increasing overall economic productivity”.
The launch of the platform is part of UNDP’s efforts to enhance the institutional, statistical, and information technology capacity of the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan. The initiative is in line with the Concept of
Development of the Digital Economy of Turkmenistan for 20192025, the National Program for Development of the Digital Economy of Turkmenistan for 20212025, and the National Program for Socioeconomic Development for 20222052, which prioritize entrepreneurship as a driving force for economic growth and transformation, according to a UNDP press release.
