Turkmenistan is the leader in jet fuel supplies to Georgia

Turkmenistan ranked first among aviation fuel suppliers to Georgia in January-July 2023.According to the Union of Petroleum Products Importers of Georgia, Turkmen enterprises exported 29.6 thousand tons of aviation fuel to this country, which is 44.1% of the total import of this type of fuel to Georgia for seven months, the Nebit-gaz electronic newspaper reports.

Over this period, the total volume of aviation fuel imports to Georgia amounted to 67.1 thousand tons, which is 0.7% less than in the same period in 2022. Among other suppliers of jet fuel to Georgia are Azerbaijan (17.3 thousand tons), Greece (10.3 thousand tons), Turkey (6.7 thousand tons), Malta (3.2 thousand tons).

Turkmenistan is actively developing its oil and gas industry and seeks to expand the geography of its export markets.In October 2022, negotiations were held in Tbilisi between the Turkmen delegation and Georgian partners on simplifying the procedures for the transit of Turkmen oil products and increasing their volumes, as well as on the import of Turkmen oil products and the joint implementation of infrastructure projects related to the processing and storage of oil products.
