Turkmenistan is interested in strengthening the partnership in the “Central Asia + Japan” format

A meeting of senior officials of the “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue was held. The event, held in a video conference format, was attended by deputy heads of foreign affairs agencies of the Central Asian countries and Japan. Turkmenistan was represented by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Gurbanov.

According to the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, the participants discussed preparations for the upcoming Dialogue summit, scheduled for August 9-10 this year in Astana. The agenda, programs of the summit and business forum, as well as the draft final document of the Summit were reviewed.

The parties also exchanged views on the current interaction between the countries of Central Asia and Japan in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Ahmet Gurbanov confirmed Turkmenistan’s interest in developing a partnership within the Dialogue, the source notes.
