Turkmenistan introduces stenting of peripheral vessels

Turkmenistan is preparing to introduce an innovative operation for stenting peripheral vessels.Yazmurat Garajayev, director of the Hospital with a Scientific and Clinical Center for Cardiology, spoke about this on the pages of the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.

This procedure will be the first of its kind in the country and will be carried out by specialists from the hospital's angiosurgery department.

The hospital with a scientific and clinical center for cardiology is the leading medical institution in Turkmenistan in the field of cardiovascular diseases. According to the director, the clinic is equipped with modern world-class equipment and staffed with highly qualified specialists, many of whom were trained in leading clinics in Germany, Austria, Russia and Türkiye.

Currently, the hospital performs a wide range of cardiac and cardiac surgery procedures. More than 200 heart surgeries are performed annually, including coronary artery bypass grafting and correction of complex cardiac dysfunction. The Department of X-ray Endovascular Surgery performs about 400 operations per year to install stents in the heart and blood vessels.

The introduction of stenting of peripheral vessels will be an important step in the development of cardiac surgery in Turkmenistan. This procedure will improve the treatment of patients with peripheral artery disease, reduce the risk of complications and speed up the rehabilitation process.
