Turkmenistan introduces new measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 ahead of the visit of the WHO mission

Today, on 6 July, the visit of the WHO mission to Turkmenistan is scheduled to kick off.

Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” emphasize that in the previous month the pace of prevention measures against the spread of coronavirus in Ashgabat significantly decreased. However, in the past few days public places have been disinfected, in particular public transport stops. Sanitizers are being offered to customers upon entrances to shopping malls.

City buses are being disinfected with chlorine at final stops before a bus goes on the next run.

Сashiers in Ashgabat supermarkets are working in medical masks and gloves. Drivers of city buses, pharmacists and emergency paramedics are also wearing personal protective equipment.

Upon entrances to hospitals people get their temperatures taken and are requested to put on shoe covers.

As has been previously reported, general practitioners go door to door in the neighborhood assigned to them to distribute 10 pills of Rimantadine to residents. Elderly people are requested not to leave their houses unless necessary.
