Turkmenistan Increases Gas Swap Shipments to Azerbaijan

Iran has recorded an increase in the volume of swap gas supplies from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan in the previous Iranian calendar year 1401 (ending March 20, 2023), which shows a 358 percent increase compared to the same period of 1400, Majid Chegeni, Deputy Minister of Petroleum & CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company said in an interview with Fars News Agency.

According to the report, last year's gas swap supplies increased by 530% when compared to the same period in 2021.

The amount of Turkmen natural gas swap supplies is predicted to expand by more than 70% compared to 2022.

Azerbaijan currently imports Turkmen natural gas under a trilateral gas swap agreement between Turkmenistan, Iran and Azerbaijan.
