Turkmenistan hosts a Dialogue of women leaders of the Central Asian region

Today, a Dialogue of women leaders of Central Asia is taking place in Turkmenistan in the Avaza National Zone within the framework of the third Consultative Meeting of the heads of Central Asian states.

The forum's program includes a review of issues related to the implementation of the gender equality policy in Central Asia, the experience of regional cooperation, as well as a discussion of the role of women in the development of socio-economic ties, cultural and scientific contacts, and healthcare.

At the opening ceremony of the forum, the Appeal of the Heads of State of CA to the participants in the Dialogue was readout.

Natalia German, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, congratulated the participants.Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairman of the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asian Countries, Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, delivered a congratulatory speech.

Mirjana Polarik Egger, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, Assistant Director of the United Nations Development Programme, Director of the United Nations Regional Office for Europe and the CIS, addressed the participants via video link.

Speaker of the Mejlis of the National Council of Turkmenistan Gulshat Mammadova, Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aigul Kuspan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz Republic Aida Kasymalieva, Chairman of the Committee on Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Hilolbi Kurbonzoda and others made reports.

It is expected that today the participants of the Dialogue of Women Leaders will attend the Turkmen wedding ceremony, which will unfold on the square in front of the Rukhyet Palace, get acquainted with the exhibits of the exhibition of museum values and works of the fine art of Turkmenistan, as well as participate in the creative evening of the masters of culture and art of our country.
