Turkmenistan hosted a training on the management of medical and sanitary waste

The Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, together with the WHO Country Office and the United Nations Development Program, conducted a training on waste management from healthcare activities.

The training was attended by specialists from the sanitary and epidemiological service and medical institutions of the country, as well as representatives of the “Seda Medical” service company.

According to the publication “Turkmenistan: The Golden Age”, the participants discussed the safe management of waste from medical and sanitary activities, reviewed the current national orders and regulatory guidelines in this area.

The participants were given the Operation Manual and Characteristics of Bertin Sterilwave Medical Waste Disposal Equipment. The trainees were tested on the acquired knowledge to consolidate the material.

The training was held within the framework of the project “Response to COVID-19 in Turkmenistan”.
