Turkmenistan Hopes For Soonest Normalization of Situation in Kazakhstan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan said in its Thursday press release that Turkmenistan is following with concern the events taking place in recent days in Kazakhstan.

Based on the centuries-old ties of friendship and brotherhood, good-neighbourly relations and ties of strategic partnership, we are sincerely interested in the soonest normalization of the situation in the country and further stable socio-political and socio-economic development of Kazakhstan, the Turkmen foreign policy agency stated in its statement.

“We express firm confidence that such qualities as wisdom, foresight, deep respect for the customs and traditions of the ancestors, tolerance, always inherent in the ancient Kazakh people, will serve as a solid foundation for resolving all emerging issues in the constitutional and legal framework and in accordance with international norms and rules,” the Turkmen Foreign Ministry added.

Turkmenistan shares more than 450-kilometer border with Kazakhstan running from Caspian Sea to the tripoint with Uzbekistan.
