Turkmenistan has banned the labor of minors in cotton picking

An order of the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population has entered into force in Turkmenistan, prohibiting the use of labor by persons under 18 years of age in cotton picking.

According to the order, two new positions have been added to the list of professions prohibited for teenagers: “Cotton picker” and “Cotton grower”.

Changes were made to the list approved earlier in 2018. The new order was registered with the Ministry of Adalat (Justice) of Turkmenistan. Control over the implementation of the document is entrusted to the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan.
