Turkmenistan has amended the Law “On Combating Doping in Sports”

Turkmenistan has amended the Law “On Combating Doping in Sports”. This is stated in the message of the electronic newspaper “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.

According to the new version of Article 15, in the event of an unfavorable result of a doping test, the athlete or his representative has the right:

1) Request analysis of sample “B”;

2) Immediately provide an explanation; 3) Be present during the re-analysis of sample “B”, if necessary;

4) Receive copies of documents based on the results of the analysis of sample “A”, containing the information provided for by the International Standard for Laboratories; 5) To a timely, fair and impartial hearing in accordance with NADAT anti-doping rules;

6) File an appeal to the International Anti-Doping Commission against the decision of the first instance in accordance with the NADAT anti-doping rules.” In addition, changes were made to Article 17 of the law, according to which all disputes related to violations of anti-doping rules are now resolved in accordance with the NADAT rules.
