Turkmenistan Gets Equipment to Improve Quarantine Product Inspections

The Border Management Assistance Program in Central Asia (BOMCA 10), funded by the European Union, on Thursday in Ashgabat handed over 25 sets of special phytosanitary kits used during inspection procedures under quarantine products to the State Plant Quarantine Service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan for a total amount of €9,560.

According to the European Union Delegation in Turkmenistan, the kits were purchased by the BOMCA 10 Program on the basis of a request of the Turkmen partners to further strengthen the technical base of the relevant agencies.

The kits will be distributed among border crossing points and will assist in the surface inspection of quarantine products, vehicles, wooden containers, and fasteners.

BOMCA assists Central Asian countries in regional economic development and facilitates trade within Central Asia, with neighboring countries, and between Central Asian countries and EU member states.
