Turkmenistan Forms New Government

The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov unveiled a new government during the online cabinet meeting on Friday.

The new President reinstated the deputy chairpersons of the Cabinet of Ministers, who had previously resigned after the inauguration of the new president in accordance with the constitution of Turkmenistan.

The Head of State appointed Muhammetguly Muhammedov to the post of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers in charge of economic and financial issues. This post was previously held by Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Reinstating the previous deputy chairpersons of the Cabinet, President Berdimuhamedov said they have rich experience necessary for the further socio-economic development of the country.

Further, addressing the members of the Cabinet of Ministers, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to propose worthy candidates for the positions of heads of supervised state institutions within a week.

Emphasizing that there will be strict demand from leaders at all levels, the Head of State stressed the importance of careful selection and proper appointment of leaders who will work fruitfully for the benefit of the people, using their experience and knowledge.

President Berdimuhamedov also instructed to develop a Presidential program for the development of the state for the next seven years and submit it for consideration by the Cabinet of Ministers.

Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan includes 9 deputy chairpersons of the Cabinet of Ministers, 17 ministers and 20 heads of sectoral departments.
