Turkmenistan extends power supply to Afghanistan for a month

Afghanistan’s media outlet Pajhwok reports that Turkmenistan resumed power supply to western provinces of Afghanistan for another month after a two day cut.

Let us recall that on 1 January Turkmenistan doubled the price of electric power exports to Afghanistan from $0,02 to $0,04 per kilowatt. Afghanistan refused to extend the contract on revised terms and Turkmenistan consequently cut off the power supply.

According to Pajhwok, the supply of electric power was temporarily resumed after the negotiations with the Turkmen authorities.
