Turkmenistan discussed the digitalization of transport with the EU at a forum in Brussels

Deputy Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Annayev held negotiations with representatives of the European Union on cooperation in the field of digitalization of the transport system within the framework of the Investor Forum of the Global

Gateway Initiative, which takes place on January 29-30 in Brussels, reports the IIC.

Annayev met with the Deputy Director General of the European Commission Directorate General for International Partnerships, Miriam Ferran, to discuss opportunities for cooperation in various infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening Eurasian transport links.

The Turkmen side focused on the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of digitalization to realize the transport potential in the region.

Annayev also held a meeting with the general director of the European division of the Spanish company S2 Grupo SL Regis Pierre Cazenave. The parties discussed issues of digitalization of the transport system, cybersecurity and the development of a national strategy in this area. Cazenave expressed his readiness to cooperate with Turkmenistan in this direction.

The EU Global Gateway Investor Forum aims to transform the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor into a high-tech multimodal route between Europe and Central Asia.
