The laboratory of energy production and energy saving technology of the International Scientific and Technological Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan received a certificate for the development of a technology for producing gray-gravel inert material. The document was issued by the State Service for Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan.
As reported by Turkmenistan: Golden Age, the main goal of this development is to create an effective method for producing gray-gravel inert material by recycling sulfur waste.
The new technology is aimed not only at producing valuable material, but also at solving environmental problems associated with waste disposal. The technology also covers the production of bitumen binder and sulfur concrete intended for the construction of road surfaces using gray gravel.
In addition, the invention includes a method for restoring the surfaces of concrete roads using the said inert material. Testing the properties of the finished concrete confirmed its compliance with state standards.
Sulfur, which has optimal characteristics, can be successfully used in road construction in the hot climate of Turkmenistan. This will increase the resistance of road surfaces to extreme temperatures and rapid wear.
The raw materials for the production of this material are completely local, which corresponds to the economic interests of the country, the source notes.
