Turkmenistan Delegation Participates in CCASG + CA Ministerial Meeting

On April 15, 2024, a Turkmenistan delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov attended the Second Ministerial Meeting of the Strategic Dialogue "Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf - Central Asia" (CCASG + CA) held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the forum was attended by foreign ministers of Central Asian countries and six Gulf Cooperation Council countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain.

During the forum, the Turkmen delegation addressed current issues and initiatives to enhance cooperation among the participating countries in transportation, energy, trade, economics, culture, and humanitarian affairs.

Participants discussed strengthening mutually beneficial and comprehensive cooperation in trade, economic, investment, transportation, communication, cultural, humanitarian, environmental, and tourism fields within the framework of the CCASG + CA format, as well as the status of implementing the "Joint Action Plan for Strategic Communication and Cooperation for 2023-2027."

The meeting also included an exchange of views on current international and regional issues and preparations for the upcoming CCASG + CA summit scheduled to be held in Uzbekistan in 2025.

A Joint Statement of the heads of foreign ministries of Central Asian countries and Gulf Cooperation Council countries was adopted at the end of the second meeting in Tashkent.
