Turkmenistan called on the CIS countries to pay attention to issues of debt obligations

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov called on the CIS countries to pay attention to the issues of mutual settlements and debt obligations during the meeting of the Council of Heads of CIS Member States in Bishkek, TDH reports.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also recalled the important economic initiatives of Turkmenistan within the Commonwealth. In particular, in 2019, the Declaration on Strategic Economic Cooperation of the CIS States, developed at the initiative of Turkmenistan, was signed in Ashgabat. This document formed the basis of the later adopted CIS Economic Development Strategy until 2030.

The head of the Turkmen state expressed confidence in the relevance for the Commonwealth of Turkmenistan’s projects on diversification of energy, transport and communication components in the context of the development of the North-South and East-West transport corridors.

As Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized, Ashgabat attaches great importance to increasing logistics capabilities with transport links in the Caspian-Black Sea and Asia-Pacific regions, as well as with the Gulf and Middle East countries.
