Representatives of Turkmenistan participated in the 8th meeting of the high-level Working Group on the Development of the Information Society.
The online meeting of the Working Group was also attended by representatives of the Communication Administrations of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the Council of Telecommunication and Info-communication Operators of the Regional Communications Union (RCU).
Participants discussed the experience of RCU Telecom operators and the role of Communication Administrations in stimulating digital transformation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the high-level Working Group on the Development of the Information Society Velizade Elmir Tofig oglu summed up the results of the work executed over the past period and outlined further ways to achieve the goals.
The Regional Communications Union was established by the communication administrations of the Commonwealth states on December 17, 1991. The main directions of its activity are the establishment of multilateral mutually beneficial cooperation of the CIS countries in the field of ICT, and the formation of a common information space of the CIS.
