Turkmenistan Announces Plans for New Plasterboard Factory

Baymyrat Annamammedov, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan overseeing the construction and industrial sector, proposed during a recent online government session on Saturday the establishment of the Türkmen gips Economic Society with the participation of the Koytendag Quarry Management of the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan and the Ak bulut ES.

According to official Turkmen media, the proposal aims to implement measures for the development of the industrial sector and the establishment of production of export-oriented and import-substituting products, as outlined in the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 20222028".

The new joint venture in the city of Dostluk, Koytendag district of Lebap province, plans to produce 250,000 tons of dry building mixtures and 20 million square meters of plasterboard products annually.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted that the joint venture for the production of modern building materials would contribute to the further effective development of the country's industrial sector, instructing the Deputy Prime Minister to continue work in this direction.

The government session of Turkmenistan also discussed matters concerning the country's state affairs.
