Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan Discuss Further Expansion of Strategic Partnership

Deputy Prime Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov held phone talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov on March 25, 2024, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

During the conversation, top diplomats focused on further expanding the deepened strategic partnership between the two countries, the agenda for 2024, and cooperation within international institutions.

On the same day, a meeting was held between Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan Shadurdy Meredov. During the meeting, the parties discussed a range of issues on the bilateral and regional agenda.

In addition, the Turkmen Ambassador and the Uzbekistan Foreign Minister reviewed the progress of previously reached agreements between the two countries and discussed upcoming joint events.

The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in January-February 2024 amounted to $184.6 million.
