Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan Discuss Further Development of Bilateral Relations

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov as part of the program of the Second Ministerial Meeting of the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf - Central Asia (CCASG + CA) held on April 15, 2024, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

At the beginning of the meeting, Turkmenistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov conveyed greetings and best wishes from President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the President of Uzbekistan, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

President of Uzbekistan and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan discussed current issues regarding the further development of Turkmen-Uzbek relations of friendship, good neighborliness, and deepened strategic partnership.

During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the growth of mutual trade turnover, highlighting the ongoing mutually beneficial cooperation in industrial cooperation, energy, transport and logistics, and agriculture.

There was also an exchange of views on current regional and international agenda items.
