Turkmenistan and UNESCO Regional Office to Develop Action Plan for 2025-2027

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova met yesterday with Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty Amir Piric.

During the meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction the high dynamics of the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNESCO, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

Having considered current issues of interaction and the implementation of the agreements reached, the parties noted that, in accordance with the “Framework Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and UNESCO on the establishment of a trust fund”, Turkmenistan transferred the necessary funds to the UNESCO account for use in the implementation of joint projects in the field of environmental protection, preservation of cultural heritage monuments, and restoration of objects.

The parties agreed to continue work on the development of the Country Action Plan between the Government of Turkmenistan and UNESCO for 2025-2027.
