Turkmenistan and UNESCO agreed to expand cooperation

Within the framework of the 42nd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Paris, a meeting was held between the Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Chinar Rustemova and the Director of the UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty Amir Pirich.

The meeting was initiated by the Turkmen side and was aimed at discussing issues of cooperation between the two sides.

During the meeting, the parties agreed on the following areas of cooperation:

• Accession of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO to the Cluster Office of the Organization in Almaty.This will strengthen interaction between the two parties and increase the efficiency of implementation of joint projects. • Expanding cooperation at the national and regional levels, in particular within the framework of the Great Silk Road corridors.

This will make it possible to contribute to the development of education, science, culture and the preservation of cultural heritage in the region.

The parties also expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for supporting cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNESCO.
