Turkmenistan and UNDP are implementing 27 joint projects

Turkmenistan and the UN Development Program are strategic partners, as evidenced by the joint implementation of 27 projects between the Government of the country and the Organization at the moment.

This position was voiced during a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Assistant Secretary General of the UN, Deputy Administrator of the UNDP and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS Ivana Zivkovic, reports the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of digitalization and providing support to Turkmenistan in accession to the WTO. It was noted that special attention is paid to interaction in the healthcare sector. Two new projects in this area have recently been signed.

Meredov informed about the documents and initiatives on climate change that Turkmenistan joined at COP-28, including proposals from the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. In this regard, the Turkmen side invited the UNDP management to consider the possibilities of joint implementation of these initiatives.
