As part of the visit to Turkey, the delegation of Turkmenistan led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Sultan Raev.
During the meeting, joint events were discussed dedicated to the declaration of the ancient Turkmen city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world and 2024 “The Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world Magtymguly Fragi.” This is stated in a message from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Particular attention was paid to the popularization of the creativity of Magtymguly Fragi and the cultural significance of the city of Anau within the framework of TURKSOY, UNESCO and other international organizations. The parties also discussed the current state and priorities for the development of cooperation, noting the fruitful nature of interaction between Turkmenistan and TURKSOY.
The Turkmen delegation emphasized the desire to expand cooperation with the International Organization of Turkic Culture. At the end of the visit, members of the delegation got acquainted with the exhibition of paintings and books dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi at the headquarters of TURKSOY.
