Turkmenistan and the United States intend to develop cooperation in the fight against climate change

On November 7, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held a video meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Geoffrey Pyatt.

The parties emphasized the constructive nature of relations between the countries, especially in such areas as trade and economy, energy, transport, logistics and others, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.

Geoffrey Pyatt, highly appreciating the progress achieved by Turkmenistan in fulfilling international commitments on climate change, noted the country's successful cooperation with American companies Tetrotech and Deloitte in implementing climate initiatives and projects.

The interlocutors also discussed key issues on the agenda of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 29), which will be held in Baku.
