Turkmenistan and the UN discussed cooperation in the field of disaster risk reduction

During a constructive discussion, the parties discussed ways to expand cooperation in preventing and eliminating the consequences of natural disasters. They emphasized the importance of joint efforts in this area within the framework of the current UN-Turkmenistan Cooperation Framework for 2021-2025.

Bashimova spoke about the measures taken by Turkmenistan to protect the population from possible emergency situations and their consequences, specifically noting the work of the Interdepartmental Working Group on Disaster Risk Reduction with the active participation of international organizations.

The parties expressed interest in further intensifying joint activities, as well as holding regional and international events in the relevant field.
