Turkmenistan and the GCC discussed ways to expand cooperation

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Orazmuhammet Charyev, met with the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi.

As the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported, during the meeting the parties noted the importance of the GCC and Central Asian Summit held in Jeddah in July 2023.

In this regard, the parties discussed ways to implement the proposals put forward by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the Summit.

Let us remind that in his speech at the GCC and Central Asian Summit, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a number of initiatives.In particular, he announced Turkmenistan’s readiness to organize the first investment forum of the Central Asian states and the Gulf Cooperation Council in 2024, put forward an initiative to form a new platform for interaction in the field of culture, and proposed to consider the issue of establishing the Environmental Council of the Central Asian States and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The head of state also voiced a proposal to hold a Medical Congress in Ashgabat in 2025 and declared his readiness to hold the first International Sports Games of the Central Asian States and the Gulf Cooperation Council in Turkmenistan.
