Turkmenistan and South Africa discussed holding joint events for 2024

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Batyr Rejepov met with the Permanent Representative of South Africa in Turkmenistan (with residence in Astana) Keitumetsi Seipelo Matthews.

The current state of bilateral relations and plans for 2024 to intensify cooperation were discussed at the meeting, reports the press service of the Turkmen diplomatic department.

In particular, the parties planned to organize joint events, exchange visits of government and business delegations, and also agreed to provide mutual support within the framework of authoritative international organizations such as the UN.

In addition, the diplomats discussed the progress of the practical implementation of bilateral agreements reached following the visit of the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to South Africa in August 2022 and regular working contacts at the level of the heads of diplomatic missions of the two countries in Astana.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in further strengthening the Turkmen-South African partnership.
