Turkmenistan and Palestine hold a new round of negotiations

On 2 May Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry reported that political consultations between Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Palestine were held in Ashgabat. The delegation from Palestine was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Mazen Shamiya.

In the course of the consultations the sides discussed cooperation in political, trade, economic and cultural spheres.

“Highlighting similar views on ensuring peace, security and sustainable development in the region and all over the world, the sides demonstrated commitment to further development of regional and international cooperation”, — the Foreign Ministry announcement says.

Let us recall that on 20 February Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a meeting with the delegation of Palestine headed by Mazen Shamiya.

On 13-15 November 2016 President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas paid an official visit to Turkmenistan.

As a result of negotiations the economic cooperation agreement, memorandums of understanding for the cooperation in higher education and tourism were signed.
