Turkmenistan and Malaysia have outlined new areas of cooperation in the oil and gas sector

National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the General Director of PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd Ismadi Bin Ismail.

The businessman expressed gratitude for the opportunity to discuss the prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation. It was noted that friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Malaysia are dynamically developing on the basis of mutual understanding, respect and mutual benefit, TDH reports.

Welcoming the guest, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of multifaceted cooperation with Malaysia.

The growing dynamics of relations between countries in various directions, including in the trade and economic sphere, were noted. In this regard, the enormous contribution of Malaysian companies to expanding partnerships in this industry was noted.

It was emphasized that one of the promising areas of Turkmen-Malaysian relations is the fuel and energy complex. Chairman Halk Maslakhaty noted that Turkmenistan highly values the fruitful nature of the partnership with PETRONAS.

During the meeting, the possibilities of intensifying and developing new areas of cooperation were discussed, taking into account the economic development programs implemented in Turkmenistan, major projects in the industrial sector, as well as the creation of favorable conditions for business.

Emphasis was also placed on the joint activities of Turkmenistan with PETRONAS in training specialists for the oil and gas industry. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov confirmed the country’s readiness to promote the development of bilateral dialogue in a wide range of areas.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in the further strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation.
