Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan sign agreement on cooperation in energy sector

The sixth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kyrgyz Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation was held in Cholpon-Ata. This was stated in a statement by the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

The Turkmen delegation was headed by the Minister of Energy Annageldi Saparov, and the Kyrgyz delegation was headed by the Minister of Water Management, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev.

The meeting discussed a wide range of issues of cooperation between the countries, especially in the energy sector. The parties noted the positive nature of interaction and the need to deepen it in the fields of energy, agriculture, culture, tourism and sports.

Following the meeting, a final protocol was signed. An exchange of signed documents on the import of electricity from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan for 2025 also took place.
