Turkmenistan and Japan strengthen inter-parliamentary ties

Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova held negotiations with the Japanese parliamentary delegation led by the Secretary General of the Japanese-Turkmen Interparliamentary Friendship Group, member of the House of Councilors of Japan, Shimpei Matsushita.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, during the meeting in Japan, the parties emphasized the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary ties for the development of relations between the two countries. A special role in this is given to the activities of the Turkmen-Japanese Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Parliamentarians discussed improving the work of friendship groups, establishing contacts between relevant committees and organizing mutual visits. In conclusion, the Japanese delegation was invited to take part in events in Turkmenistan dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the poet Magtymguly Fragi.
