Turkmenistan and Hungary discussed expanding cooperation in the field of trade and investment

Political consultations were held in Budapest between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Hungary. The Turkmen delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov, and the Hungarian delegation by Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Adam Stifter.

As the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported, during the consultations a wide range of issues on further strengthening Turkmen-Hungarian relations were discussed. The parties exchanged views on key aspects of the international agenda.

Ways were considered to increase the volume of trade, economic and investment partnerships, improve the legal framework, and implement joint projects in the energy, industry and pharmaceuticals.

A mutual focus on enhancing ties in education and culture was noted. Political consultations between foreign policy departments are called an important component of interstate dialogue.

In conclusion, the importance of continuing the dialogue for further diversification of fruitful cooperation in mutual interests was emphasized.

On the same day, Gurbanov met with the Deputy Head of the FAO Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Raymond Jehle. The productive cooperation of Turkmenistan with FAO was noted and promising areas of interaction in the field of food security and climate change were identified.

On June 19, Gurbanov held a meeting with the Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Sandor Lezsak.The state and prospects of the Turkmen-Hungarian partnership were discussed with an emphasis on the implementation of agreements between the leaders of the two countries reached in 2023.

There was an exchange of views on interaction at the UN and other international organizations.The importance of cultural, educational and interparliamentary ties for the development of friendly relations was emphasized.
