Turkmenistan and the European Union (EU) are celebrating the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations. In honour of this event, the EU Delegation in Ashgabat held a press conference as part of the EU Culture Week in Turkmenistan.
EU Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Beata Peksa, Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, Mahri Bashimova and First Counsellor of the Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan, Renata Wrobel, were attendees at the event. Additionally, the heads and coordinators of EU-funded projects in Turkmenistan and media representatives also participated in the event.
At the beginning of the event, Mahri Bashimova and Beata Peksa expressed their satisfaction with the EU-Turkmenistan relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, Rustam Berdiev, representing the Border Management Assistance Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10), presented the program's achievements and upcoming initiatives. One of the highlighted projects was the development of a mobile application designed for the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan. The launch of this mobile application is planned for 2024.
This application will allow users to access e-services and tariff calculators and familiarise themselves with Turkmenistan's legislation.
The EU Culture Week started on November 10 and will continue until December 3. Its program includes a series of events. The final event will be a Mary Children's Choir concert conducted by Vita Timermame Moora and accompanied by the State Symphony Orchestra in Mary province.
