Chairman of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova met with Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China Hao Mingjing, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit at the head of a representative delegation of his country, TDH reports.
During the meeting, the parties noted the high level of interstate dialogue achieved in recent years, which is successfully developing on a bilateral and multilateral basis, including in the “Central Asia-China” format, as well as through the UN.
The interlocutors emphasized the mutual desire to give new impetus to the traditional partnership, initially built on the principles of equality and mutual respect.
As noted, a significant role in coordinating joint efforts is assigned to the Turkmen-Chinese intergovernmental committee. It was emphasized that the bilateral partnership, which is strategic and long-term, is effectively developing at various levels, including the intensification of inter-parliamentary and inter-party ties, and interregional cooperation has received a new impetus.
Continuing the meeting, an interested exchange of views took place on expanding mutually beneficial dialogue in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
In this context, the significance of the participation of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the Third High-Level Forum “One Belt, One Road”, held in October 2023 in the capital of the People's Republic of China - Beijing, was noted.
A special place in interstate partnership is given to humanitarian ties.A large number of young Turkmen citizens study at universities in China.Chinese is studied in a number of higher and secondary educational institutions in our country.
Examples of fruitful cooperation in this area include the recent opening of the Year of Chinese Culture in Turkmenistan in Ashgabat and the holding of the Youth Forum of Central Asian Countries and China in Mary.
During the meeting, the guests were familiarized with the structure and activities of the national parliament. At the end of the meeting, mutual confidence in building up fruitful relations between Turkmenistan and China was expressed.
