Turkmenistan and China agreed to expand energy cooperation

Turkmenistan and China came to an agreement to expand energy cooperation and develop bilateral relations during a meeting of a high-ranking delegation of Turkmenistan with Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Ding Xuexiang in Beijing, reports the Xinhua news agency.

The Turkmen delegation included Advisor to the President of Turkmenistan on oil and gas issues Ashirguly Begliev and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov.

The meeting of the parties took place on the eve of the third Forum of International Cooperation within the framework of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, which will be held in the Chinese capital on October 18-19.

Members of the Turkmen delegation emphasized that the countries have achieved fruitful results in the gas sector. They expressed Turkmenistan’s readiness to further expand energy cooperation with China and strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership.

Ding Xuexiang said that China is ready to fully implement the important agreements between the leaders of the two countries, deepen the energy partnership and promote bilateral relations.
