Turkmenistan and Afghanistan Discuss Boosting Trade Relations

Turkmen delegation, led by the Chairman of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, NokergulyAtagulyyev, visited Herat, Afghanistan, on Saturday to discuss matters related to the development of trade relations between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan.

As reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Afghanistan, during the visit, the Turkmen delegation met with the governor of Herat province, Noor Ahmad Islamjar.

The delegation also toured marble processing plants in the industrial zone of Herat province.

The governor of Herat noted that there are currently around a thousand factories operating in the city, and all production is carried out by the private sector of the province, as reported by Türkmendemirýollary (Turkmen Railways) agency.

On April 26, 2024, in Kabul, under the leadership of the Director-General of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Mammethan Chakyyev, and the Minister of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan, Nooruddin Azizi, a Turkmen-Afghan meeting took place, during which the establishment of a joint logistics center in Turgundi was discussed.
