Turkmenistan and Afghanistan agreed to strengthen the work of the Imamnazar-Akina checkpoint

Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, as well as a number of specialized and law enforcement agencies of Turkmenistan and the heads of the Andkhoy, Khancharbag, Gurgan districts, the Akin customs point of the Farab province of Afghanistan agreed today to strengthen the work of the Imamnazar-Akina checkpoint, taking into account the sanitary and epidemiological standards.

According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed current issues of cooperation related to the proper implementation of border, customs and phyto-sanitary supervision in border areas.

They also discussed issues of expansion of humanitarian cooperation. The Afghan side was pleased with the friendly gesture of the Turkmen side to provide the necessary medical equipment.
