New printing media, which represents active role of Turkmenistan in regional structures, have been published.President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlights that our country always stands for review and search for mutually acceptable solutions of the issues of common agenda based on recognized standards of international law taking into account the interests of all sides and with participation of competent organizations recognizing that only consensus is an efficient format for interstate cooperation.
New publications “Documents adopted in the period of chairmanship of Turkmenistan in International Fund for Saving of Aral Sea” and “Collection of documents adopted at Caspian Summits” proves this based on the example of detailed chronology of cooperation.
One of the booklets is dedicated to successful chairmanship of Turkmenistan in International Fund for Saving of Aral Sea in 2017 2109, which has given new impulses to joint work.
Our country has demonstrated the most serious approach to fulfilment of this responsible mission, where the Summit of the heads of the state founders of IFAS in Avaza on August 24, 2018 has become a top event.
Number of events including the session of the Board of the Fund, its Interstate Coordination Water Management Committee and Interstate Commission for Sustainable Development, which resulted in adoption of relative documents important not only for the region, have been held.
For example, the Resolution on Cooperation between the United Nations Organization and International Fund for Saving of Aral Sea, which was initiated and developed in co-authorship with Belarus, Guinea, Germany, Kazakhstan, Canada, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, has been adopted by the 72nd UN General Assembly on April 12, 2018.
The Resolution on Cooperation between the United Nations Organization and International Fund for Saving of Aral Sea, which was initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and co-authored by 21 states, has been adopted at the 73rd UN General Assembly on May 28, 2019.
Our country would present the draft concept and structure of future Special Program for Aral Sea in May 2021 under regular session of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific.
Steadily pursuing foreign policy based on the principles of positive neutrality, good neighborliness and equal beneficial partnership, our country stands for strengthening and developing of constructive cooperation in the Caspian Sea both in bilateral and multilateral formats.
Another book represents full review of the results of Caspian Summits since 2007.As is known, Turkmenistan is an active member of all integrational processes, summits and development of relative documents in the Caspian Sea basin.
Issues related to Caspian Region occupy an important place foreign strategy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.This is vividly indicated by regular participation of the Head of the State in five-side Summits as well as specific proposals of the Leader of the Nation in various aspects of Caspian theme including in the formation of relative contractual and legal base.
The base for organization of Caspian Summits was put in Turkmenistan - the first Caspian Summit has been held in Ashgabat in April 2002.The dialog initiated in Turkmen capital was deservingly continued its results put the foundation of important decisions made at the Summits in Tehran, Baku, Astrakhan and Aktau held relatively in 2007, 2010, 2014 and 2018.
It is worth to remind that the Sixth Summit of the heads of Caspian States will also take place in Turkmenistan.Important documents for partnership in Caspian Sea have been developed and lately adopted by the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
It includes the Strategy on cooperation in prevention and response to emergency situations in Caspian Sea and Agreement on protection and rational use of aquatic biological resources of Caspian Sea, Agreement between the Governments of Caspian states on trade and economic cooperation and cooperation in transport sphere.
Successful conduct of the First Caspian Economic Forum in 2019, which was held in Avaza at the initiative of Turkmen leader, was a continuation of this work.
