Turkmenistan increased the export of food products to Russia by 90%, and textile - by 50%. This is stated in the article of the Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Alexander Blokhin for the newspaper “Turkmenistan”. According to him, relations between Turkmenistan and Russia are of a strategic nature, and at the moment they are sealed by more than 360 agreements.
As Blokhin noted, important areas of bilateral cooperation are Turkmen-Russian contacts in energy, agriculture, industry, IT, and in cultural and humanitarian areas.
The Ambassador reminded that Russian vaccines against COVID-19, which became the first registered by the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, successfully immunized the population in the country.
Touching upon the issues of trade and economic cooperation, Alexander Blokhin emphasized the promising role of Turkmenistan in transport and logistics within the framework of international transit corridors, as well as the establishment of strong relations between the country and the constituent entities of the Russian Federation - Tatarstan, Chelyabinsk and Astrakhan regions.
“Russian companies “Gazprom”, “KamAZ”, “Tatneft”, “Vozrozhdenie” and others are successfully operating in Turkmenistan”, - he said.
Blokhin also noted that the implementation of the project plan for the opening of the Turkmen-Russian University, the construction of a new building of the State Russian Drama Theater named after A.S. Pushkin and the new building of the joint general education Turkmen-Russian secondary school is an important step in cultural and educational cooperation.
